Reaching out for help is a big step! Kudos to you for beginning your journey by stopping by this site. Below you can read some information about me and reach out if you have questions or would like to take the next step!
I moved to St Augustine, Florida in 2013. Previously, I lived and worked in Ketchikan, Alaska where I worked in community mental health, residential treatment and private practice. I have coordinated emergency services, developed a preschool for children with behavior disorders, and counseled adolescents, adults, couples, and families in individual and group therapy. I was on the Adjunct Faculty, at the University of Alaska, where I taught undergraduate psychology courses.
I am a Licensed Mental Health Counselor. I received a Masters Degree from The Adler School of Professional Psychology in Chicago, in 2000. I hold a certificate in Cognitive Behavioral Therapy and Dialectal Behavioral Therapy (DBT). I am trained at the Doctoral level in Clinical Psychology and licensed at the Masters level. I am a Certified Sexual Addictions Specialist. I specialize in healing the effects of trauma. I am a Licensed Clinical Supervisor in the states of Alaska and Florida.
In my private practice I treat individuals, couples, and families. I enjoy working with adolescents and adults. I was the Clinical Director of an inpatient treatment center for adolescents, who were in trouble with the law or experiencing family issues. I have specializations in treating adolescents, eating disorders, trauma, infidelity, and sexual addictions. I welcome all lifestyles and life situations without judgement. I often work with families in the crisis of divorce to make the transition as healthy as possible for the family.
Using Cognitive Behavioral Therapy and a Positive, Wellness approach, I also treat depression, anxiety, personality disorders, and other mental health issues. My husband and I have fostered many children and adolescents in our home along with raising our biological children.
I enjoy working with individuals and families to promote positive change! There is nothing more satisfying, for the client and therapist, than to see positive change and growth!
